Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair Colour Remover

Over the years I have coloured my hair brown, black, red, blue and purple. My hair is naturally blonde, like white blonde. After experimenting with lots of colours I decided that I would go back blonde. I picked up Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair Colour Remover from boots as it was on offer for £6.66.

How the Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair Colour Remover works

The Colour B4 shrinks the artificial dyed molecules in the hair, enabling you to wash away the colour. It is designed to be the safest and most effective way to remove unwanted hair colour.

The box comes with the Colour B4 remover, activator and buffer, as well as a pair of gloves. You need to pour the activator in the remover bottle and shake well to mix the products together. This is the product you need to apply to your hair to shrink the dyed molecules. The buffer is applied after rinsing your hair to help remove the dyed molecules and wash the product out.

I read the instructions carefully and understood that Colour B4 wouldn’t actually make my hair completely back to blonde but it would lighten my hair and remove colour build up.

Whilst mixing the products I noticed a horrible smell of eggs!

I applied the product on to my hair making sure it was all covered and fully saturated. Wrapped my hair in cling film and covered with a towel over the top. I then sat and waited patiently for 60 minutes while the product did its thing.

Once the 60 minutes was up I jumped in the shower and rinsed the product out for 10 minutes, making sure there was a constant flow of water on my hair to rinse it thoroughly. I then applied half the included buffer product to my hair and left it for 1 minute, rinsed and then applied the second half and rinsed.

Does the Colour B4 Hair Colour Remover work?

Colour B4 did remove the colour and build up as described on the packet. I would say if you have long or thick hair to buy two packets. The only downfall was the smell which lasted a few days. I did not notice any damage to my hair and would use this product again.

I knew my hair would have a slight ginger tint to it, as my hair cuticles have been stained from previous dying. So I bought  Provoke Touch Of Silver Colour Care Shampoo, to help counteract the brass tone. I also used the Provoke Touch Of Silver Colour Care Conditioner.

Overall I am really impressed with the Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair Colour Remover. It removed a lot of the colour pigmentation without damaging my hair.

UPDATE – I now use the Bleach London Silver Shampoo and Bleach London Silver Conditioner to maintain my ash blonde hair!

I have also repurchased the Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair Colour Remover many times since this review and used it on my sisters hair, which was pink, and it worked amazingly.
