Schwarzkopf Only Love Hair Dye Review – Is This Gentle Box Dye Worth Trying?

If there’s one thing my friend Kate and I know about, it’s hair dye! Over the years, we’ve experimented with pretty much every colour imaginable, from classic black and fiery red to blue and purple. Kate tried the Spicy Blonde shade, and we were both really intrigued to see how it would turn out.

Because Schwarzkopf Only Love doesn’t contain ammonia or silicone, Kate was curious as to whether the finished colour would have those lovely cool, slightly silvery tones shown on the box.

First impressions were positive. The packaging is colourful and attractive, and everything inside the box is easy to identify. The colour tube and developer were also simple to use, which made the whole process feel pleasantly fuss-free.

One thing we particularly noticed was the lack of that overpowering chemical smell you can sometimes get with home hair dye. Instead, there was a much more pleasant fragrance — the sort of scent that makes you feel like you’ve just walked out of a hair salon rather than spent half an hour colouring your hair in the bathroom!

What Was the Colour Result Like?

This was probably the biggest test, and thankfully, the dye took really well.

Kate was particularly pleased with how much it helped to reduce the unwanted yellow tones in her hair. Rather than leaving the hair looking overly warm, the finished result appeared much more balanced and blonde.
