2020 Beauty Favourites

Well what a year! Can’t believe 2020 is over already. It simultanously feels like the longest year and the quickiest. For most there hasn’t been a lot of going out, which in turn means there hasn’t been a lot of getting dressed up putting makeup on. Even though I’ve hardly left the house, I did have more time to play with makeup and experiment with new products. As I wore less makeup throughout the year I focussed a lot more on skincare. I managed to test out a lot of skincare products and really hone in on what my skin needs. I’m really excited to share the beauty products I’ve been loving this year, so without further ado, here is my 2020 beauty favourites.

Makeup Beauty Favourites

Eyeshadow palette

I’ll start off with the few makeup products I’ve loved this year. During the year I created many different makeup looks and tried to be a bit more creative and experiment with colour. There was one palette I kept going back to for this and it was the Makeup Revolution Maxi Reloaded Palette Monster Mattes* This palette consists of 45 colourful matte shades and that’s why I got good use from it because it has so many colours.

Bronzer

This year I tried out a cream bronzing product for the first time. I opted for the Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer* and I’m so glad I did. This has been the only bronzer I’ve been reaching for since. I’ve got the shade ‘Butta Biscuit’ and it gives me the most gorgeous natural looking bronzed glow. I was a little bit worried about using cream products but there was nothing to worry about with this bronzer. It blends like a dream and is easy to build up but never looks too much. It just melts into the skin, I love it.

Brushes

I use the Unicorn Cosmetics 001 Buff Up Flat Top Foundation Brush to apply it, which is another one of my 2020 beauty favourites. I use a mixture of a stippling and buffing technique with the brush. The bristles are incredibly soft.

Another brush favourite is the Spectrum B08 Magic Wand for Highlighting and Setting. I got this in the Zodiac 5 piece face set. You can get 15% off using my code*. This is a small tappered fluffy brush perfect for setting your face. I love using it to set my under eye.

Powder

Moving on to another beauty favourite from 2020, my favourite setting powder is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder*. I think I’d even go as far as saying it’s my favourite powder of all time. It is a silky smooth powder that has a kind of blurring effect, it’s amazing! You only need a tiny amount and it never looks cakey. It doesn’t look matte or drying and doesn’t feel it either.

Foundation and highlighter

Two consistant beauty products that were featured in last years favourites post is the Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Hydrating Foundation and the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. I’ve done full reviews on both. Fenty Foundation Review | Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter Review

Skincare Beauty Favourites

Serum

Onto skincare now and my most used product has to be the good molecules hyaluronic acid*. This has been such an amazing product I’ve incooperated into my routine. I’ve done a full review of this in my Good Molecules Skincare Review – A Brand Introduction post. It’s basically a super product for hydration, my skin always feels more supple after using and it really helps with my dry patches.

Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid

Exfoliator/Toner

Along with so many others, my skin loves the Pixi Glow Tonic*. This has been in my collection for so many years and continues to be a favourite. It contains glycolic acid that exfoliates and purifies the skin. I’ve just bought a new bottle of this and will no doubt carry on using it throughout 2021.

Lip Balm

A product that I’ve used quite a lot this year, especially during the colder months, is the Lotil Lip Balm*. I’ve been slathering this on and nothing has work as well as this. It really soothes my lips and with SPF in it, it’s perfect for all year round.

Cleansing device

Another product that has become a staple in my skincare routine is my PMD Clean Pro*. I’ve shared my love for this in my ‘Is the PMD Clean Pro worth it?‘ post as well as over on my instagram. I love using it to cleanse my face and as it’s waterproof it’s really handy to use in the shower. I love the different settings, the vibrations feel like a mini massage and the warming feature is such a treat.

Eye Cream

The Boots Ingredients Caffine Eye Cream* is also another one of my beauty favourites of 2020. As I’ve got older, I have realised more and more the importance of using an eye cream. What I love about this, is that it’s so lightweight and really hydrating. It is also really cooking when applied to the skin.

I’ve really loved collecting all of the products I’ve enjoyed using throughout the year. I’ve got loads of new products to try out, so I’m excited to share all my thoughts with you next year. Let’s hope 2021 will be a better year for us all. Hope you have a lovely New Year whatever you are doing.
