PMD Personal Microderm
The PMD Personal Microderm* system is a hand-held device to give you an at home microdermabrasion treatment. It supports anti ageing and skin purifying by exfoliating using a suction technique.
The Personal Microderm device is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Using the device regularly will help fade uneven pigmentation, sun damage and age spots. It will reduce acne scars and reduce the formation of acne. In addition you can also use the device on other body areas such as your arms to help with bumps and your heels.
Using the PMD Personal Microderm
It uses patented spinning disc technology combined with perfectly calibrated vacuum suction. The spinning discs exfoliates away dead cells from the surface of the skin, revealing new cells which are stimulated to grow. Collagen and elastin are boosted as the suction increases circulation and triggers the skinβs natural healing process. Use the device on a weekly treatment basis.
To use, you need to cleanse and dry your face thoroughly. Pull your skin tight and glide the device over your skin in a quick smooth upward motion.
Always start with the white disc, then increase the disc intensity with each consecutive week or once your skin has got used to it. Once you have reached your desired exfoliation level, stop changing the discs.
I have been using my Personal Microderm device for 6 weeks. My skin looks brighter and feels a lot smoother. Pigmentation from my acne has faded. The question I get asked the most is ‘does it hurt?’ and the answer is no. It doesn’t hurt at all. There is a slight tugging feeling, which is the suction. Just make sure you use one quick motion so that it doesn’t stay on one part of the skin for a long period of time. Also try not to go over the same area multiple times as this could cause irritation.
My skin does become red after use, as it increases circulation but this normally fades away quite quickly. I have fairly sensitive skin and so far I haven’t had any issues using this device. Just be careful using it and always do a patch test on your arm or leg before using on your face.
