6 Methods Of Keeping Your Oral Health Good

Brushing, flossing, and rinsing are the ABCs of good oral health, but they’re not the only things you can do. To get a beautiful mouth, you should do more than just squeeze toothpaste out of the tube. Instead, you should try to improve how you brush your teeth, stop drinking soda every day, and quit smoking. 6 Methods Of Keeping Your Oral Health Good

Go To Your Dentist

If you don’t go to the dentist often, it’s likely because you’re afraid of dentists, can’t afford it, or just don’t care. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends going to the dentist at least twice a year. If you do this, you can find problems like cavities, gum disease, broken teeth, or even cancer earlier, when they are easier to treat and less expensive. You may want to go to cosmetic dentist Dr Karishma Wijeyesinghe if you want to alter your smile.

Know How Old You Are

Most parents don’t think much about their toddlers’ and grandparents’ oral health, but they need to go to the dentist regularly just like the rest of us. Children should see a dentist by the age of 1 before they are coordinated enough to tie their own shoes. The elderly also have problems with their oral health. As people get older, they make less saliva, which makes tooth decay worse and makes it hard to wear dentures. Arthritis and tooth decay can make it hard to brush and floss your teeth.

Drink Less Sugary Pop

Having a drink with more fizz is fun, but it is also part of the reason why soda is bad for our teeth. Carbonated soda has phosphoric acid and citric acid in it. Both of these acids eat away at the surface of your teeth. Even though drinking more than one can of soda a day won’t hurt your teeth, it makes them more likely to get cavities. You can add flavour to water by slicing citrus, crushing berries, or adding mint leaves.

Use A Good Toothbrush.

Use a brush with soft bristles for the best results. With good care, a brush this size should last two to three months. If the bristles are bent, it’s time to get a new one, but don’t wait too long. Even if the tip of a straight bristle does not become rounded, it is still possible to hurt your teeth and gums.

Practice Proper Technique

Most people know they should brush their teeth at least twice a day, but many don’t think about how they should do it. Put the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle toward the gum line and move it around in short, gentle circles. Make sure you don’t brush each tooth too much. Too much brushing hurts the teeth and wears away the gum line.

Make Sure You Include Flossing

Just like when you don’t brush right, flossing can cause friction and damage your gum line if you don’t do it right. As you wrap the floss around your index fingers, leave about two inches between your fingers. With an automatic flossing device, you should unroll fresh floss for each tooth and keep it tight against the tooth. This will help break up plaque and keep your gums healthy.
