The first month in college has gone by in a whirlwind and it’s been absolutely AMAZING. Initially, the first couple of days seemed quite disorganized. There were a lot of room changes, swapping of students and tutors and loads of form filling. Eventually things settled down and we were soon full swing into all the topics. It is very very intense. Studying lots of new subjects is very daunting and there are a lot of technical terms to learn.
I soon adjusted to college life and found my group of friends; Becca, Shannon and Jess. These girls are lovely and are very welcoming. We’ve all been working together and supporting each other with areas that each person is struggling with.
As for the level of work, it’s been really hard. We’ve had quite a bit of homework and it takes up a lot of my free time but now I’ve got into a routine and have my own office space so it is much easier to get stuff done. I am really enjoying all the subjects but especially Anatomy and Physiology, the human body is really fascinating.
We’ve already had to start thinking about University, we’ve had sessions working on transferable skills, we’ve started our personal statements and we’ve had chats from different universities telling us about the courses they offer. It’s all a bit overwhelming to be honest but I am progressing in making my decision.
Overall I am thoroughly enjoying college and am looking forward to learning more! It’s great to be learning about something I am really interested in.
I’ll update you next month!
