NYX Liquid Lipstick Comparison Review
Recently there’s been a lot of talk about NYX products, now that they are readily available in boots stores and online. I thought I’d try out three of their lip products and do a review to compare them.
First up is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London.
This is described as not a lipstick or a gloss but like a liquid lipstick that is smooth and sets matte. The shade ‘London’ is a peachy based nude with brown undertones. I love the taste/smell of this and it has a really buttery texture. For me it takes a couple of layers to build it up to an opaque colour. It is really soft as the name suggests but after a few layers it can feel quite tacky.
Up next is NYX Lip Lingerie in the shade Push Up.
This is a weightless liquid lipstick with a gorgeous matte finish. The shade ‘Push Up’ is a great ‘nude’ nude with a slight hint of pink to it. Normally I can get away with just one layer and a few touch ups around the edges. However if I want to intensify the colour I just add an extra layer. Sometimes I even add a lip liner to make it more defined. In general it is a thicker consistency than the others but because I don’t need that many layers it doesn’t feel heavy or drying on the lips.
Finally we have the NYX Liquid Suede in the shade Soft Spoken.
This is also a liquid lipstick which sets matte. I find the texture to be much more liquidy than the other formulas, so struggle to apply it. It goes everywhere and then dries very quickly, which is a good thing on one hand, but on the other, if you make a mistake you’re screwed. The shade of this is gorgeous though. A much darker nude with a hint of berry, it’s so pretty.
Overall I am really impressed. All three collections are fab and the shade ranges are outstanding. If you’re like me and love a good matte lip, these are worth a try. I’ll definitely be getting some more, I already have my eye on a few others.
Have you tried any NYX lip products?
