#BigBloggerExpo | London Meet Up Event
Waking up at 5:30am and leaving Swansea Coach station at 7:00, we prepared ourselves for the exciting day ahead. The girls and I were heading to London for the #BigBloggerExpo event, held by Lauren and Abi. I was stoked to be going to such a great event, but also so pleased to be going to London. I hadn’t been since I was a little girl, so I was looking forward to seeing the different lifestyle aspect.
The journey wasn’t too bad, it was just freezing on the bus and I didn’t have a jacket with me as I had planned for the warm weather in London. Other than that, it went quite quickly and we were soon on the outskirts of the city. The girls could tell I was excited because my head kept popping up like a meerkat looking out of the windows (Charlee’s words, not mine aha).
Finally the coach arrived at Victoria Coach Station, we all quickly went to the toilet and then did the exciting task of calling an Uber. Eventually after one taxi driver cancelling and the other on the wrong street, we made our way to the Danubius Hotel for the event. As we had traveled in comfy clothes we headed straight to the bathroom to get ready. The bathroom had a lovely dressing area with big mirrors and stools. After we were ready we went and had a drink at the bar while we waited for the event to start.
10 minutes later we were all ushered in and were lead downstairs to the two private rooms the event was held in. We were all given wrist bands and a sheet of paper with brands logo’s on, which we had to get stamped once we had spoken with them. In exchange we would get a goody bag at the end of the event.
The girls and I then started to make our way around the first room. We got see some amazing brands including; Bonnie Boo Gifts, Shop Two Three, Jewellery Box, Return To Glory, Juvadent, West Lab and Brandbassador. We had some lovely chats with the brands and really got to engage and learn about them. I also got my nails done.
After we finished doing a circle of the room we headed into the hallway and had a look around at the Borough Box products. We also had a quick chat with gorgeous Lauren. It was so great to meet her, she did an amazing job at hosting the event.
In the next room we got to meet the following brands; Dr PawPaw, Living Proof, Heaven Skincare, Jody Bell and 4YouByYou. Again we got to learn a lot about the brands and their products & services. It was so nice just to chat about something that I love and build a relationship up with brands I have a keen interest in.
Once we had met all the brands and had our stamps we were able to collect our goodie bags. There was also a great raffle going on but unfortunately none of us managed to get tickets as we were all so busy engaging with brands. As we were walking out the lovely ladies from Juvadent approached me and said that I had won the competition of guessing how many lip sweeties were in a jar and I received a gift voucher of £75.
Charlee, Neesha, Urika (who we’d met up with) and I, then got another Uber and headed for the nearest GBK’s. Neesha was adamant that’s where we were going for food! I had never tried it there before so was quiet exciting to see what all the hype was about. I ordered an Oreo milkshake and a cheese burger with skinny fries. Oh My Goodness, it was the best burger I have ever tasted in my life. The milkshake and fries were amazing too, I am so glad we went there and am certainly happy enough to go back.
We then had to say goodbye to the lovely Urika and get another Uber back to the coach station. We were a bit pushed for time and weren’t sure if we were going to make it. But even with us playing Pokemon Go we made it to our coach and got settled for our long journey home. Eventually we arrived back at Swansea, said goodbye to Charlee and then Neesha and I headed back to her house. I quickly grabbed my stuff and said goodbye to her, as Johny had kindly stayed up to take me back to my house. 1:10am and I arrived back home. Completely zonked I went straight to sleep as I had to be up for work at 7.
It was such a great day and I had a lovely time. I am so grateful I got to meet some amazing brands and look forward to working with them in the future. A big thank you to Lauren and Abi for organising the event – you should be very proud.
Keep an out of another post soon including all about the brands and the gorgeous items I was kindly given.
